Mobile-Assisted Language Learning Dalam Pembelajaran Keterampilan Menyimak Bahasa Asing: Sebuah Tinjauan Pustaka

Penerapan teknologi dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing telah menjadi perhatian dan urgensi dalam beberapa dekade. Sejumlah penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui penggunaan dan efektivitas penggunaan perangkat seluler dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa asing. Namun, penelitian eksperimen mengenai keterampilan menyimak bahasa asing dengan menggunakan perangkat seluler masih mendapat sedikit perhatian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan hasil kajian tematik literatur terbaru dan relevan tentang penggunaan MALL (Mobile-Assisted Language Learning) pada pembelajaran keterampilan menyimak mengenai peluang dan kendala penerapannya dalam konteks pembelajaran bahasa asing di kelas. Metode penelitian ini adalah studi literatur, dengan mengumpulkan berbagai data melalui literatur ilmiah pada artikel yang relevan dengan topik yang dibahas. Pemilihan artikel penelitian dipilih melalui basis data Google Scholar dengan kriteria 5 tahun terakhir dan ditemukan 16 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria yang ditentukan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa MALL dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menyimak memiliki potensi manfaat untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa pembelajar bahasa asing serta meningkatkan motivasi dan keterlibatan mereka dalam belajar. Terlepas dari manfaat pedagogi ini, tetap ada hambatan yang mencegah media ini diimplementasikan secara efektif, terutama terkait dengan masalah penggunaan perangkat seluler, tingkat keterampilan pembelajar yang beragam, dan konten dalam aplikasi MALL yang tidak sesuai. Sampai batas tertentu temuan penelitian ini sejalan dengan temuan penelitian sebelumnya yang dilakukan dalam kerangka yang sama.
