Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format, do not .pdf. (doc, docx format).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Double Blind Review (Peer Review Process) have been followed.

Author Guidelines

General Requirements

The authors should submit the only manuscripts that have been carefully proofread. The manuscript is a scientific paper from research results or conceptual ideas. Written in Bahasa (Indonesian) or English. It is an original (no plagiarism) and has never been published in other media. In addition, authors must agree to our copyright policy.

Presumption of Law is a peer-reviewed journal published since 2019 and open-access journal (E-ISSN: 2656-7725; URL: https://ejournal.unma.ac.id/index.php/jpl/index) that aims to offer a national and international academic platform for cross-border legal research on legal policies and regulatory issues, particularly in developing and emerging countries. These may include, but are not limited to, various fields such as civil law, criminal law, constitutional and administrative law, customary institution law, religious jurisprudence law, international regime law, legal pluralism governance, and another section related to contemporary issues in legal.

Publication Frequency

Presumption of Law is published by the Faculty of Law, Majalengka University, published twice a year, namely in April and October.

Review Policy

The review process in this journal uses a double blind review, which means that the identities of the reviewers and authors are kept secret from the reviewers, and vice versa. See at Peer Review Process

Plagiarism Policy

The maximum similarity rate is = 40% or  less than 40%

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Paper Format

  • The word limit for the submission is 4000-8000 (15-20 pages) words (including footnotes and abstract).
  • The sequence of manuscripts following: Title; Abstract; Keywords; Introduction; Analysis and Discussion; Conclusion; and References.
  • 12pt size of font, Times New Roman, Margins 4,4,3,3 cm, uses A4 paper size.
  • Footnote and Referencing style uses the Chicago Manual of Style.

Writing Rules

The conceptual article contains:

  1. Title ;
  2. Author's name ;
  3. Abstract and keywords ;
  4. Introduction ;
  5. Method ;
  6. Research Results and Discussion ;
  7. Conclusion
  8. Recommendation ; and
  9. References.

The title of the manuscript, a maximum of 15 words, is written in Indonesian or English depending on the language used to write the full manuscript. given a description of the contract number and source of research funding.

Author's name, written under the title without being accompanied by an academic degree or position. Author's name, the institution where the author works, and the author's e-mail address are listed (Listed e-mail should be active because of the correspondence by e-mail).

The abstract contains a brief introduction to the problem, the objective of the manuscript, research methods, and a brief summary of the result. The abstract is in 1 paragraph, single spaced and must present approximately 150-250 words. Under the abstract are included three or five keywords.

Introduction, contain the background for writing a legal article must include the reasons and abilities why a legal article was made

Method mustcontain about this section explains in detail the variable identifiers, research subjects, instruments, and methods, including the statistical analysis techniques used. This section should provide readers with information about the types and methods used by the author in this research. Accurate and precise information must be ensured for further research. Quoting definitions directly from books should be avoided in this section.

The results of the research must contain about the results of the research and discussion are the arrangement and good grouping of information about an activity based on facts through the efforts of the researcher's mind in processing and analyzing research objects or topics in a systematic and objective way to solve a problem or test a hypothesis so as to make a general principle or theory. Create a sub-title of the problem discussed/topic discussed below that matches the introduction/identification of the research being studied, below a example:

Discussion contains a description of the results or research findings of how research is reported to be able to solve problems, what factors influence research results, and so on. See on the Journal Template.

Recommendation must be contain about a suggestion is something in the form of suggestions, suggestions, or solutions to something, whether it can be a problem or a situation that requires opinions or input in doing something.

The Footnote and Citation System

We recomendation to use references manager such as Mendeley (using style Chicago manual 17th edition full-note) to easy way applied footnote, citations and bibliography.

Speed Up Citations With Footnotes

Use of ibid
Ibid is short for ibidem, which means in the same place, used when a quote is taken from the same source as the one that immediately precedes it without being interrupted by another source.

Use of Op. Cit
Op.Cit, an abbreviation of Opere Citato means "in the essay that has been mentioned", used to refer to a book that has been mentioned", used to refer to a book that has been mentioned before, complete on other pages and has been interspersed with other sources. If the author's name is the same, more than one book is cited, to avoid mistakes, state part of the book title.

Use of Loc. Cit
Loc.Cit from Loco Citato means "in the place that has been called". Used to point to the same page or the same issue from a source that has been mentioned.
