Abstract
Referring to the existing problem, namely the lack of early childhood reading skills in the Kindergarten Center, the researchers tried to find a solution or a way out, namely through word card game activities to improve early childhood reading skills. This study aims to 1) describe the planning to improve early childhood reading skills through word card game activities at TK Center Jatitengah Village, Jati Tujuh District, Majalengka Regency. 2) Describe the process of improving early childhood reading skills through word card game activities at the Kindergarten Center Jatitengah Village, Jati Tujuh District, Majalengka Regency. 3) Describe the results of improving early childhood reading skills through word card game activities at the Kindergarten Center Jatitengah Village, Jati Tujuh District, Majalengka Regency. In this study, several methods will be used to obtain more accurate data as a basis for decision making to obtain the right solution in problem solving to improve early childhood reading skills through word card activities. The research approach uses a qualitative approach. This qualitative approach is used to describe events, people's behavior, or circumstances in a particular place in detail and depth in the form of a narrative. The research techniques used by the author in this study are: observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The subjects in this study were Early Childhood Kindergarten Center in Jatitengah Village, Jati Tujuh District, Majalengka Regency and the research sample was 1 manager, 1 tutor and 5 students. The results of this study indicate that the level of reading ability of kindergarten children in grade B before reading activities through word card games is low, but after learning with word card games, there has been an improvement. The results of this study have reached the expected indicators, using word card games to improve early childhood reading skills.
