Abstract

The field trip method is a learning activity by visiting certain objects outside the classroom to observe objects directly, such as livestock, fisheries, plantations, workplaces, and so on. The benefits of the field trip method are 1) Accelerating students' understanding, because they come directly to the object 2) Encouraging students to be more familiar with the environment 3) Training students to be more open, objective, and broad in their views of external views 4) Adding experience, be it students and teachers have the opportunity to learn the object clearly. Meanwhile, science is a science about the natural environment which is a process that contains theories or concepts obtained through observation and research. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The data collected by the authors used a pretest and posttest, in the form of children's scientific abilities before the application of the field trip method and children's scientific abilities after the application of the field trip method, the sample was 21 people. The data processing shows that the reality of the relationship between the two variables shows a very strong influence because it produces 0.884, while the degree of influence is 78.15% and 21.85% is influenced by other factors such as the activity of children participating in learning. To test the relationship between the application of the field trip method and the improvement of children's scientific abilities, a significant test (t test) was used which was classified as very strong, meaning that the application of the field trip method was very supportive of children's scientific abilities at RA Az-Zahra Majalengka, this was evidenced by > or t count 8,235 > t table 2,093, then Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected
