Abstract

Sweet corn is one of the important commodities in agriculture that has high economic value and various nutritional benefits for the community. Sweet corn is classified as an agricultural commodity that has good economic value. Sweet corn farmers are dependent on chemical fertilizers in their farming. The next challenge that arises is when the impact of chemical fertilizers is getting higher so that it can affect the overall farming costs. On the one hand, the use of chemical fertilizers in the long term causes a negative impact on environmental sustainability which is marked by soil degradation in terms of physical, chemical and biological aspects of the soil. Organic fertilizers are an environmentally friendly alternative and have the potential to increase soil fertility and plant health without leaving chemical residues that are harmful to the environment and human health. Liquid organic fertilizer from bamboo shoots is one comprehensive solution for fertilizing sweet corn. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of sweet corn plants. This study was conducted using an experimental method with a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK), this experiment consisted of 5 treatments consisting of 1 factor, namely bamboo shoot POC, each of which was repeated five times, so that there would be 25 experimental plots. The results showed that there was a significant effect on each observation variable. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the provision of Bamboo Shoot POC 150 ml/liter of water is able to increase every growth variable and provide better results compared to without giving POC, giving Bamboo Shoot POC 150 ml/liter of water can be used to increase the growth and yield of sweet corn plants.
